Tweet praising Bowe Bergdahl deleted from Sen. Thad Cochran account

A tweet welcoming home Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl and thanking him for his service from the account of Mississippi Republican Sen. Thad Cochran has been deleted.

Cochran is headed to a runoff election against Tea Party-backed challenger Chris McDaniel, and somebody obviously decided the tweet wasn’t in the best interest of his campaign to retain his Senate seat.

The tweet from Sen. Cochran’s account was deleted after having been up for three days:

Editor’s note: This post has been updated to correct the fact that Thad Cochran represents Mississippi and not Missouri. Twitchy regrets the error.
