New England Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker has signed his franchise tender with the team. By signing the contract, Wes Welker is guaranteed $9.5 million and at least one more year playing with Tom Brady and one of the NFL’s most explosive offenses.
Good to see that Wes Welker finally signed.

Wes Welker has signed his franchise tender. $9.5 million over 1 yr. He rocked my fantasy team last season. Wish he never left Dolphins #STUD

Wes Welker confirmed the news via his Twitter account on Tuesday afternoon.
I signed my tender today. I love the game and I love my teammates! Hopefully doing the right thing gets the right results. #leapoffaith

We wish every leap of faith was worth $9.5 million.

Welker of course wanted a long-term deal, but signing his franchise tender only guarantees him one more season with the Patriots. Yet somehow we find it extremely difficult to feel sorry for someone who just cashed in over $9 million.
Good for Wes Welker $9.5 million is a nice addition to the bank account

And today has just gotten that much better…Wes Welker signed the franchise tag…one more season guarantee…I'll take it for $9.5M

Happy for Welker, but even happier for NE. If Wes gets dinged up in camp, his negotiating power nose dives. Stay healthy, my friend.
